Deborah Ennis

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), licensed in Massachusetts with more than 30 years experience as a holistic health practitioner, educator and psychotherapist. I value a safe, supportive environment and offer my caring presence, extensive experience and training to facilitate your growth, healing and transformation.

I provide psychotherapy sessions for individual clients (ranging in age from adolescents to elders) and for couples. I welcome clients of all races, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities, religious and spiritual paths.  My approaches to treatment are informed by a number of Guiding Sources.

Education

M.A. in Counseling Psychology, focus on holistic and body-oriented approaches to therapy Lesley University, Cambridge MA.

M.A. in Health Education, focus on stress management programs. University of Florida, Gainesville FL.

B.S. in Nutrition Education, focus on community nutrition projects. University of Vermont, Burlington VT.

Work Experience

Private Psychotherapy Practice in Orleans, MA.

Teaching Mindfulness to groups in various community settings

Teaching mindfulness to children in schools through Calmer Choice.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counselor with Gosnold, Thorne, Inc. at the Provincetown and Orleans outpatient clinic. Individual counseling, recovery support groups, Intensive Outpatient Treatment groups.

Counselor and educator with Provincetown Middle School, Dennis Yarmouth High School, Harwich High School and Harwich Elementary School.

Stress management, healthy eating and mindfulness classes through Nauset Community Education, and with a variety of community groups.
