An initial, orientation session with Deborah is required.

Each program provides instruction in mindfulness meditation techniques including awareness of the breath, body scan, sitting meditation, walking meditation, gentle stretching and movement, and interpersonal communication skills. Program flyer is available here.

This course offers you an opportunity to discover and practice ways of approaching life’s challenging and stressful situations with greater ease and confidence. You will learn about the physiology and neurochemistry of stress, and how to recognize it and meet it more skillfully.  You’ll be guided in observing your experiences of bringing increased kindness and less judgment to your life.  The benefits of sharing this process with others in a safe and supportive group setting has proven more beneficial than doing it alone or on-line.

Information is shared using audio resources, reading materials, discussion, and skill-building exercises. You will receive support to find practices that work for you; there isn’t one “right” way to develop mindfulness. Deborah is available for support by email and phone between sessions.

The program includes eight weekly group sessions plus a 6-hour Saturday session as scheduled. You are asked to make a commitment to attend all the classes and to practice a daily assignment for 45-60 minutes a day.
